The zamak alloy is an alloy sort, consisting of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper. As a multiple sided element, it procures a high volume at casting, due to the ease of production it reduces machine hazards and the costs. Zamak alloys are multiple sided engineering materials. No other alloy system can procure specifications like hardness, robustness, endurance performance  and suitability to economic casting. Another specification to list is reducing the costs.

Zamak 2, has the same component as Zamak 3 but gains 20% of endurance with an addition of 3%Cu. This causes a higher price. Although it has a very good endurance, it is more breakable and less flexible.
KS 2 is convenient to accessories produced with centrifuge. It has a higher revetment ability and abrasion resistance. It has the same component as Zamak 2 except it's used with more magnesium to reduce its rugged surface and for a better f-grain structure.
Zamak 3 is the most general zinc alloy. With its low hardness and stroke resistance, it's used at pieces where the function is more important than endurance. It's favorable for painting. It's the zamak of reference for other zamak alloys. All other zamaks are compared with this zamak. Zamak 3 contains basic components for the other zamak alloys (96% zinc, 4% aluminum). It has a perfect casting ability and a long life size.
Zamak 4 has been developed to continue the softness of Zamak 3 and reduce its solder effect. It has half of the copper amount as Zamak 5.
Zamak 5 is used at pieces where endurance, resistance to abrasion and hardness are needed. Its revetment ability is better than zamak 3 and zamak 7. It's used especially on accessories and pieces of the automotive sector.
Zamak 7 has less magnesium than zamak 3 in order to reduce the fluidity and ductility and is favorable at casting of thin wall elements. with an addition of some nickel, the unwanted elements can be fully controlled.
Zamak 8 is a material of continuous casting and cabin injection. It's used at the production of decorative pieces with its feature of being easily processed and its surface quality.
Zamak 12 can be used at pieces of general purpose casting. It gives very good results at sand moulds and cold chamber presses. It's a perfect bed and gearwheel material due to its smashing resistance. It has more endurance and lower costs than bronze beds.
Zamak 27 procures a very high resistance end endurance. It's widely used at sand casting but it's also favorable for cold chamber metal injection presses. It's used at gearwheel power transfer mechanism pieces, demanding a high resistance.
Zamak 8, Zamak 12 and Zamak 27 are used on electric installations and production of hand tools. Additionally they can be used at armatures of explosives and inflammable gases since they don't spark on hits and collisions. They have more endurance and are harder than Zamak 3, Zamak 5 and Zamak 7. Since their magnetic features are low they are widely used in the electronic industry.

The resistance of zinc alloys to corrosions under atmospheric conditions is very high. They can be used on pieces increasing the corrosion resistance, chrome skipping, and phosphating processed. It also can be used on decorative polishing and revetments.
